Feedback after policy dialogue “The real situation of land use and forest land allocation in Ha Tinh: Difficulties, inadequacies and solutions".” (10/2016)

RED cooperating with Centre for Indigenous Knowledge Research and Development (CIRD) held successfully policy dialogue The real situation of land use and forest land allocation in Ha Tinh: Difficulties, inadequacies, and solutions" and received great attention from the press. 

Ha Tinh Online Newspaper had an article titled “Policy dialogue, the real situation of land use and forest land allocation in Ha Tinh”. This article wrote that after Mr. Tran Ngoc Binh - Vietnam Administration of Forestry had reported overview of the real situation of land use and forest land allocation in Vietnam, the delegates focused on clarifying the content and discussing frankly the overview of the forest land allocation in Vietnam. This article quoted the word of Mr. Nguyen Van Minh that land use and forest land allocation had many difficulties because the coordination between branches at the grassroots was not tight and synchronous. The article also quoted the word of Mr. Tran Viet Hung, Pho Tay village, Son Tay commune, Huong Son district that we had not felt insecure to produce in our the forest because of not having had the certificate of land use yet.

Online Newspaper of Ha Tinh Agriculture Department rewrote opinion of Representative of People’s Committee of Ky Lac commune that Every year, it was necessary to have support policies for the households receiving natural forest areas. Besides, Mr. Nguyen Van Viet - Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Huong Khe district considered that land use and forest land allocation was not so much due to lack of people’ fund and some legal policies.

Ha Tinh Online Newspaper had a piece “The discomposure that many contracted households have sold forests to “rich people””. This piece mentioned to the common concern of the delegates attending the workshop which was a positive and negative side of land use and forest land allocation situation.

In an article titled “Ha Tinh: “Developing strategies for management, exploitation and land use and forestry”, the writer expressed his view that sustainable forest development was the goal that many programs and projects had been reaching in the situation of increasing climate change.

The conference also solved some difficulties and gave solutions and developed a specific strategy to improve the management, exploitation, and utilization of forest and forest land in Ha Tinh province.
