Project title: “Legitimate exercise against obstruction of journalists in corruption and environment cases in Vietnam” Partners: Human Rights and Democracy Fund – British Embassy Hanoi Budget: 76,000 £ (8 months) Base: The project is the next step linking the RED’s activities since 2010 for attempts related to the relevant state agencies in order to give favorable conditions for press sector activating safety and efficiency, contribute to the national construction and development. Activities: -  Direct surveying about 400 journalists around the country involved in cognitive contents on the rights of activities, acts, laws in the press field; -  Online surveying about 72,000 readers of 06 e-newspapers related to cognitive contents on the rights of activities, acts, laws in the press field; -  Produced and broadcasting the documentary film “Face to face” about cognitive contents on the rights of activities, acts, and laws in the press field; -  Edited and published “The investigative reporter handbook” related to cognitive contents on the rights of activities, acts, laws in the press field; -  Published report “Surveying research on journalistic practice obstruction”; -  Training investigative skills for reporters, journalists at 5 pointed provinces (Ha Noi, HCM City, Buon Ma Thuot, Vinh) with the participation of journalists, reporters from 15 neighboring provinces; -  Workshop “Setting operational environment for journalists” related to cognitive contents on the rights of activities, acts and laws in the press field in Vinh, Da Nang and Buon Ma Thuot; -  TOT course for 20 experts and journalists; -  Delivered the products to the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC), Department of Information and Communication, national and local journalists associations, national and local security and communication agencies, national and local press agencies, journalism universities, specialized committee of congress and many experts, journalists and reporters. Results: Besides the specific products of the project such as handbook, research report, documentary film, the project also obtained the following results: -   Hundreds of news, articles on national and local mass media surrounding cognitive contents on the rights of activities, acts and laws in the press field; -    Formed in press sector as well as social awareness about the anti-press acts, the millions of results related to these contents when using the search engine Google; -  The journalists and reporters are more aware of their rights and be able to download the documents of projects.
