OPERATING 2 SKILLS TRAINING COURSES FOR INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER IN HANOI AND HO CHI MINH CITY (18/11 & 6/12/2011)

In the framework of the "Research - Communication on Obstructive Behaviors of the Press" project, RED organized two training courses on investigative journalism skills in Hanoi (18/11/2011) and at HCMC (6/12/2011).

Training content in Hanoi by journalists Phan Loi (Ho Chi Minh City Law Newspaper), Viet Chien (Thanh Nien Newspaper) and Le Tho Binh (VTC) built and transmitted directly; In Ho Chi Minh City, journalists Phan Loi, Ngo Mai Phong (Labor Newspaper) and Nguyen Van Hieu (Head of Law - Policy Department, Press Department).

Each training course (in one day) was attended by about 60 participants, most of them were reporters and journalists under 3 years of experience working in the investigative field, hotline, processing of letters.

The training program helps reporters and journalists understand the noble responsibilities and obligations of the media as an objective information channel for the benefit of the people; understands the needs of the information provider, the needs of the office, the needs of the state and society for information.

Trainees are equipped with more than 20 skills as basic skills in investigating and verifying information, self-assessing the limitations, difficulties as well as advantages in working in hot, risk, dangerous, obstructed situations.
