On September 7th , The Center for Research on Development Communication (RED) and TRUONG LOC Law Limited Liability Company jointly organized the conference “Rescue the poor from the mortgage fraud” at 3rd floor hall, The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA), 53 Nguyen Du, Hanoi.

At the conference, experts analysed and discussed thoroughly about many aspects of the cause of the existing “mortgage fraud”.

Lawyer Truong Thanh Duc (Basico Law Company), Mr. Le Khac Son (Department of Criminal Police, Police of Hanoi), Mr. Chu Quang Tien (Department of Civil Judgment Execution), Mrs. Tran Thi Hong Hanh (General Secretary of Banking Association), Mrs. Tran Thi Thuy (Head Department of Crime Prevention), Nguyen The Truyen (Thien Thanh Law Partnership Company) and many other experts offered the perspectives on "mortgage fraud".

Victims of “mortgage fraud” had participated in the conference. They are Mr. Vu Anh Tuan, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Le, Mr. Vu Duy Ha...

Stories of the victims and speeches of experts have attracted lots of attention of the press. Many interviews took place outside of the conference room,on the corridor.

The experts and representatives of all functional departments also shared the same opinion that the long-term and essential way to solve the problem is to complete institution; strengthen inspection, examination and transparency; publicize the conditions, orders, procedures and the way to approach the sources for healthy credit from banks and responsible financial organizations.

RED and expert group will continue to discuss further in order to make recommendations submitting to the relevant authorities and stakeholders, based on consultations at the conference.
